Jumping Along a Path

If I tell a bot to follow a path that requires jumping, it should be able to do it, right? Exactly how does jumping factor into path calculation.

Basically, I'm wondering why on a level like DM-JunkYard, every time the bot is told to follow a path to the UDamage powerup, it jumps, fails and falls into the acid pit. I would like for an action like this to be primitive, but if that's not possible, then can someone tell me how to accomplish it at all?

In general, the Gamebots command to jump, and the path following around cliffs seem to be difficult to make do what I want.
